Just me and my thoughts, today and everyday!

Changes!!!

In the course of longevity, you’ll discover that the most exhilarating part of any adventure is always in the chase, the relentless pursuit of something more. It was several weeks ago that I discovered my ‘something more’ and made the decision to transition my expertise to the Woo.com (formerly WooCommerce) Commerce Happiness division at Automattic. This bold move brought closure to my enriching journey at WordPress.com.

WordPress.com has been akin to a warm, comforting home for me. It was indeed a challenging decision to move on, one laden with a mix of emotions. However, a little voice inside me whispered that it was the right time, the right moment to step out of my comfort zone, to take the plunge, to tackle a fresh volley of challenges, expand my horizons and push the envelope of my technical aptitude to uncover unknown possibilities.

There was a certain trip I was eagerly anticipating which, I regretfully had to let go. Why? Well, my new journey needed my full attention at the earliest, and considering the bigger picture, this trip was an opportunity which could wait while the new role certainly could not.

To say that I am going to miss my former team would be an understatement. The bonds we’ve built, the unity we’ve fostered – it’s irreplaceable. There is never a replacement for your first love, after all. And yet, with each passing day of these recent weeks, I find affirmation and validation that I’ve made the right decision. This unexpected satisfaction gladdens me and fills me with a renewed energy.

As I embark on this new journey, I eagerly anticipate the opportunities to learn and adapt. What excites me the most is the prospect of consistently bringing my best effort each day – I thrive on such challenges. Like the Automattic creed goes: I’ll never stop learning.

Here’s my note to everyone out there, regardless of where you are: Find ways to create your magnum opus, to do your best work every day because merely doing your work isn’t enough, it’s crafting your best that brings true fulfillment. Embrace the fact that there’s no limit to your potential, strive to touch the sky because it’s always the limit!

For those curious to know, WordPress.com and Woo.com (formerly WooCommerce) are siblings under the same parent, Automattic Inc. So, essentially, I didn’t get a new job, but rather just changed departments. Isn’t it a great plot twist?

I am sure you were waiting to say congratulations, but let’s keep the drum rolls for now!
